HILARY JEFFERY (NL) | Trombone
Hilary will present his new piece for acoustic trombone!
Music has been Hilary’s main activity since 1990 which started with a journey to the Sahara Desert, accompanied by a trombone. This journey and the sense of silent-space experienced there has been a continuous influence on his work ever since.
Hilary’s work in music has included recording and playing live with many musicians and groups including (in roughly reverse chronological order): Zeitkratzer, Catherine Christer Hennix, Franz Hautzingers Third Eye, Splitter Orchester, Lysn, Jimi Tenor, High Birds, Kreepa, Black Galaxy, The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation, Paul Dunmall Quartet and Octet, Moksha Big Band, The Barton Workshop, Apa Ini, Keith Tippett’s Tapestry, Band of Holy Joy, Sand, Earthling, Hugh Davies and Germ.
ANSGAR WILKEN (DE) | Cello
Ansgar Wilken plays his cello as if it was a guitar. He’s learned finger-picking at the age of 13 and has developed his significant style since then. This is Minimal, Blues, Ethno in a rigorous corset. Wilken is part of several bands and projects (Ilse Lau, Anton Tornister, Julijuni, Pneumo Twins). ALESSANDRA LEONE (IT) Commissioned animation [ screening ]
Alessandra Leone (Milán, 1983) currently is based in Berlin. Motion graphic designer and self-taught programmer, highly fascinated by perception, consciousness and reality... exploring new solutions for experimental mapping installations and immersive environments. For this event Alessandra will work for one month on a new piece inspired and with music (excerpt) from a concert in Prague by Emiter & Arszyn in 2005 [from ar054: AUDIO TONG Radical Poland III ] ... particles reacting, structures evolving and taking life into a ten minute long composition.
